Cooking Time!

Look what came in the mail the other week! This darling apron from Nancy! I was the lucky winner of her Flaunt Your Red giveaway. Now, I just need to do some cooking!

I need to apologize for my lack of posting lately. School is almost finished and I hope to be back to writing about the home real soon. So keep checking!

Be Patient

In my last post I mentioned that I'm looking for a chair. I'm actually looking for two different chairs, one for our bedroom and one for the living room. Last year we purchased new living room furniture. While shopping for furniture, I found an armless chair that I really liked! However, the $700 cost for the chair, was more than we wanted to spend and it wasn't a necessity for our living room.

Well, last week I happened to "stop by" our local furniture store. WARNING - this could be a dangerous thing to do!! They just happened to still have that armless chair that I had my eye on. The price was marked down to a savings of $350! Still, more than I wanted to spend. I asked the sales guy, if that was their best price. He told me $299! I told him, "I'll need to talk with my husband!" We discussed it and it was still more money than we wanted to spend!

So, what is a girl to do? Check Craigslist!! I couldn't believe it, but just two days later I found an add on Craigslist for the same chair!! Guess what was sold the following day? One armless chair for a great savings!!! I'm so glad I waited!!!

You better believe that I'm continuing to check Craigslist for great deals! Who knows what I will find next!

Thrifting!

Thanks for all the advice on my Master Bedroom! Please, keep it coming! I've enjoyed reading the advice and I must say that "black" is in my plan! It will be a while till it is complete, but I will be sure to post my pictures when it is complete. (If a room is ever complete?!)

I wanted to share with you some of my latest thrifting finds! One of my friends was having a garage sale and I knew she would have some great home decor, so I made it a point to shop early at her sale. This is what I found!

My "thrifting" is coming along. I have some specific items that I am currently looking for: a chair, decorating accessories, bedding and clothing! I've learned that you need to get to the sales early! I'm also learning that it takes time to find the good deals. For some awesome tips on garage sales, check out Jen's post here. She will inspire you and challenge you to find some beautiful items at an incredible price!

One other post, that I wanted to point out is Nester's, It Doesn't Have to Be Perfect! She is offering a free e-book on decorating your home! I just read it, and her philosophy is so in line with how I feel about decorating!
